Toyota Corolla: Engine compartment / Checking the radiator and condenser
Check the radiator and condenser and clear away any foreign objects. If either
of the above parts is extremely dirty or you are not sure of their condition, have
your vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.
WARNING
■ When the engine is hot
Do not touch the radiator or condenser as they may be hot and cause serious
injuries, such as burns.
The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the “FULL” and “LOW” lines
(type A) or “MAX” and “MIN” lines (type B) on the reservoir when the engine is cold...
■ Checking fluid level
The brake fluid level should be between the “MAX” and “MIN” lines on the tank.
■ Adding fluid
1 Slide and lift up the rubber strip to partly remove it as shown...
Other information:
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights comes on or
flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes off, this does not necessarily
indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this continues to occur, have
the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer...
Some states have vehicle emission inspection programs which include OBD (On Board
Diagnostics) checks. The OBD system monitors the operation of the emission control
system.
If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on
The OBD system determines that a problem exists somewhere in the emission control
system...
